• Manic Panic – Amplified Dye – Atomic Turquoise

This time around I used Manic Panic’s Atomic Turquoise. Since I only had one bottle it wouldn’t be enough to cover all my hair, so I mixed the dye with 1 dl (1/3 cup) conditioner (Naked – Intensive Care Conditioner) and let it sit in my hair for two hours. As you can see the dye came out vibrant anyway. Maybe it won’t last as long though? I guess we’ll see! 😀

  • Dry bleached hair – treatments so far

This picture is from today. As you can see it’s a big difference in hair quality of the bleached hair and the non bleached hair further up, but it’s so much better than a few days ago. I haven’t used any styling products in these pictures.

    Hi guys!

As you probably know I bleached my hair pretty intensely about a week ago (see here) and my hair is pretty damaged and lifeless. It’s also not as curly at the tips. That’s why I have been doing several long hair treatments. The first I did was with coconut oil (organic virgin coconut oil) and I kept it in my hair for several hours inside a plastic cap. The second treatment was with the “Naked Rescue Intensive Care Conditioner” which contains protein (protein is good for bleached hair). I left it in my hair for a long time (also in a plastic cap) and slept with it in my hair.
My hair is starting to feel better but I’m going to keep using these treatments. Always prepare for getting dry hair after chemical treatments such as bleach, If I’d do it again I would’ve probably bleached my hair for a shorter period and maybe bleach it several times instead, weeks apart! It sure helps with repairing treatments though, I’m starting to recognize my curls again 😉
Don’t forget to rinse your hair with cold water after washing it, this causes the cuticle scales to tighten and close and helps the hair to be less porous and frizzy.

I’m still going to keep using only conditioner/no poo for my hair of course! 🙂 Stay away from drying sulfates!

  • Naked – Intensive Care Conditioner

Naked contains no animal derived ingredients so is suitable for vegetarians.

A few products do contain animal by-products i.e. milk, honey and beeswax but we do highlight these as not suitable for Vegans on our published ingredients lists on our website. We also don’t believe in testing on Bambi, Lassie, Skippy or any other animal – not any of our ingredients, not our final product (although our founder’s dog once had an Angelica bubble bath courtesy of her kids!) We operate a Fixed Cut Off policy dating from 2000.

De här produkterna är INTE veganska:

We’re a friendly bunch ourselves so we try to ensure this is reflected in our products. All our products are suitable for vegetarians and most are vegan friendly. The products that are not suitable for vegans are:

    • Coco de Mer Body Butter
    • Smooth Silky Shampoo
    • Shine Hydrating Shampoo
    • Shine Hydrating Conditioner
    • Colour Protection Conditioner
    • Volume Body Building Conditioner
    • Heat Defender Heat Protection Spray
    • Mama Stretch Mark Cream

The BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) charge a fee to use the bunny logo and this is quite considerable for a small brand like Naked. We are proud to offer natural products at affordable prices, and we never test on animals.

Palm oil and palm oil derivatives are extremely common ingredients in toiletries, in fact they are almost impossible to avoid. Everyone uses it, from the big guys to the little guys. Naked recognises that the cultivation of Palm oil can have an environmental impact on eco-sensitive areas. Our suppliers are working with The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) which enables manufacturers to purchase ‘palm oil certificates’ for sustainable, responsibly sourced palm oil or ‘green palm’. As manufacturers generally purchase ingredients which contain palm oil, they may not have traceability on where the oil is from. The RSPO provides a way that manufacturers can ‘offset’ the purchase of other palm oils and contribute to the work of the RSPO in promoting sustainability. We are delighted to confirm that in partnership with our key suppliers, Naked has purchased green palm certificates to offset more than 12 months of our requirements for palm oil in our products. This is a small step, but we think it’s in the right direction!

    Hi guys!

A while back gorgeous Anna told me about Naked 🙂 . Naked has a lot of vegan friendly products and it’s clearly written on the back of the products if it’s suitable for vegans or not. Great!
This is what they say about their ingredients:

Naked contains no animal derived ingredients so is suitable for vegetarians.

A few products do contain animal by-products i.e. milk, honey and beeswax but we do highlight these as not suitable for Vegans on our published ingredients lists on our website. We also don’t believe in testing on Bambi, Lassie, Skippy or any other animal – not any of our ingredients, not our final product (although our founder’s dog once had an Angelica bubble bath courtesy of her kids!) These products are NOT vegan:

    • Colour Protection Conditioner
    • Volume Body Building Conditioner

Fixed cut off policy from 2000 means that they haven’t bought any animal tested ingredients since the year 2000. You can read more about the Fixed cut off date policy here. This is what they say about why they’re not branded with the “Leaping Bunny” logo:

The BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) charge a fee to use the bunny logo and this is quite considerable for a small brand like Naked. We are proud to offer natural products at affordable prices, and we never test on animals.

Unfortunately Naked uses ingredients derived from palm oil, this is what they say about it:

Palm oil and palm oil derivatives are extremely common ingredients in toiletries, in fact they are almost impossible to avoid. Everyone uses it, from the big guys to the little guys. Naked recognises that the cultivation of Palm oil can have an environmental impact on eco-sensitive areas. In other words, they only buy “green” palm oil. The problem is that palm oil can never be kind to the environment. But it’s good to know.

Their products are pretty easy to find in Sweden and are sold at the pharmacies “Apotek Hjärtat” (with a heart logo). I’ve tried their Intensive Care Conditioner which is vegan friendly and you can also use it as a washing conditioner if you’re into “no poo” (no shampoo). I like this conditioner; it’s moisurizing without being too heavy and also works well as a washing conditioner! 🙂
