• NYX Cosmetics – Vegan friendly?

För ett tag sedan fick jag höra att NYX skulle vara veganvänliga… Så jag mejlade dem och frågade:

    Hello NYX!

I’m interested in hearing more about your animal testing policy; can you guarantee that your ingredients and products aren’t tested on animals?
I also would like to know which ingredients you use that are animal derived? (I’d love to know what ingredients to look out for as a vegan). Is the glycerine you use for instance derived from animals?

Thank you so much in advance!
    Have a nice day!

    Svaret jag fick var:

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out! NYX Cosmetics is certified and acknowledged by organizations, such as PETA, as a cruelty free brand. NYX is committed to producing 100% cruelty-free cosmetics. NYX does not test any of its raw materials or finished products on animals.

Please note our products are not certified as vegan. As we have multiple manufacturers and product cycles, one line could have slightly different formulations and we are unable to give out generalized ingredient information.

The best way to determine if a product is right for you is to view the ingredient list on the packaging in person. You can use our Store Locator (link below) to find a retailer that carries our products.

Det är lite missvisande när vissa produkter kan vara antingen vegetabiliska eller animaliska (glycerin är en sådan ingrediens), så jag frågade igen:

    Hi!

Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate it! 🙂

So you can’t tell which ingredients you use that are animal derived? That would help a lot since glycerine for example can be derived from either vegetable origin or animal origin! In that case it wouldn’t help to read the ingredient list if it just says “glycerine”, so that is why I’m asking.

Thank you so much in advance!

    Deras svar:

    Hi,

We do not have sourcing information for the individual ingredients unfortunately. But if you have any hesitations at all about a product’s ingredients it is best to refrain from using it. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

    Kindest Regards,

    NYX

På deras hemsida på FAQ står det:

    Q. Are your products vegan/gluten free?

    A. Most of our products are but a few do have animal derived ingredients and/or could contain gluten. It is best for the customer to view the labels of each product in-person and determine if there is any ingredient that could be derived from animals and/or contains gluten.

Så jag skrev till dem på Facebook och frågade igen för att se om jag skulle få ett annat svar där, det här är vad de svarade:

    Hi !

We are a cruelty free brand that does not test any of its raw materials or finished products on animals.
For more details about our products, please contact customerservice@nyxcosmetics.com.

    Det sista jag skrev fick jag aldrig något svar på; det här är vad jag skrev;

    Hi NYX!

Thank you so much for your reply!

I did contact customer service before writing here and the answer I got about the ingredients (such as glycerine which could be either from vegetable origin or animal derived) was this:
“We do not have sourcing information for the individual ingredients unfortunately. But if you have any hesitations at all about a product’s ingredients it is best to refrain from using it.”

So in other words, you don’t know if the ingredients are animal derived or not? Yet on your page in the FAQ it says:

“Q. Are your products vegan/gluten free?

    A. Most of our products are but a few do have animal derived ingredients and/or could contain gluten. It is best for the customer to view the labels of each product in-person and determine if there is any ingredient that could be derived from animals and/or contains gluten. “

I’m trying to find out which products are vegan friendly but I can’t seem to get an answer to which ingredients you use that are NOT vegan friendly?

I’d really appreciate it if I got an answer to this question! Thanks so much in advance!

Min slutsats är att det tyvärr INTE går att lita på NYX, så frustrerande att de vägrar svara när de skriver att de ska ha veganvänliga produkter! Riktigt dåligt!

A while back I heard that NYX is supposedly vegan friendly… So I emailed them and asked:

A bit misleading since some ingredients can be either animal derived or from vegetable origin (such as glycerine) so I asked again:

    Hi!

Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate it! 🙂

So I wrote them on Facebook to see if they’re answer would be any different there and this is what they replied:

    The last question I asked was this one, and I didn’t get any answer after this;

    Hi NYX!

Thank you so much for your reply!

My conclusion is that you CAN’T trust NYX, so frustrating to not get any answer when they state that they have vegan friendly products!
